Journal of Management Theory and Practices Research (JMTPR) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, transparency, and scientific responsibility throughout all stages of the publication process.

JMTPR follows a double-blind peer review process and expects all parties involved in scholarly publishing, including authors, reviewers, editors, editorial board members, and the publisher, to act in accordance with national and international ethical principles. The journal takes into account the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the relevant regulations and ethical principles of higher education and scientific publishing in Türkiye.

1. General Publication Ethics Principles

Manuscripts submitted to JMTPR must be original, scientifically sound, ethically conducted, and not previously published or under evaluation by another journal.

The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, salami publication, ghost authorship, gift authorship, denied authorship, copyright infringement, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or any other form of research or publication misconduct.

All submissions are evaluated in accordance with the principles of academic integrity, impartiality, confidentiality, transparency, and scientific merit.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring that the editorial and publication process is conducted fairly, independently, and transparently.

Editors are expected to:

• Evaluate manuscripts based on academic quality, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, methodological soundness, and ethical compliance.

• Ensure that manuscripts are reviewed through an impartial and confidential double-blind peer review process.

• Make publication decisions without discrimination based on the authors’ gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political opinion, institutional affiliation, or personal characteristics.

• Protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and related correspondence.

• Avoid using unpublished information obtained through the editorial process for personal or professional advantage.

• Refrain from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.

• Take appropriate action when ethical concerns, allegations of misconduct, or conflicts of interest are identified.

• Preserve the integrity of the scholarly record through corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary.

The final decision regarding acceptance, rejection, revision, or issue placement rests with the Editorial Board.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers play an essential role in maintaining the academic quality and integrity of the journal.

Reviewers are expected to:

• Evaluate manuscripts objectively, constructively, and in a timely manner.

• Accept review invitations only when they have the necessary expertise and sufficient time.

• Treat all manuscripts and related materials as confidential documents.

• Avoid personal criticism of authors and provide clear, evidence-based, and academically grounded feedback.

• Identify relevant literature that has not been cited where appropriate.

• Inform the editor of any suspected plagiarism, substantial similarity, duplicate publication, ethical concern, or methodological problem.

• Decline to review manuscripts in cases of conflict of interest arising from personal, institutional, financial, competitive, or collaborative relationships.

• Not use unpublished information obtained through the review process for personal benefit.

4. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for the originality, accuracy, ethical compliance, and scientific integrity of their submissions.

Authors are expected to:

• Submit only original work that has not been previously published and is not under review elsewhere.

• Present research findings honestly, clearly, and without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.

• Provide sufficient methodological detail to allow the study to be evaluated and, where applicable, replicated.

• Cite all sources accurately and acknowledge the work of others properly.

• Disclose all financial, institutional, personal, or other conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation.

• Clearly state all sources of funding or support.

• Ensure that all listed authors have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, analysis, interpretation, or writing of the study.

• Ensure that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission.

• Notify the journal promptly if a significant error or ethical issue is discovered after submission or publication.

• Cooperate with the editor and publisher in correction, withdrawal, or retraction processes when necessary.

5. Authorship and Author Changes

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a substantial academic contribution to the study. Individuals who contributed to the study but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately, provided that they have given permission to be acknowledged.

The author list, author order, and corresponding author information should be carefully reviewed before submission. Requests for author addition, removal, or order change after submission must be submitted to the editorial office with a clear written justification and the approval of all authors.

Author changes after acceptance are only considered in exceptional cases and are subject to editorial review.

6. Ethics Committee Approval

For studies requiring ethics committee approval, authors must obtain an official Ethics Committee Approval document before submission and upload it during the submission process.

This requirement applies to, but is not limited to:

• Research involving human participants

• Surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, and experiments

• Clinical research involving humans

• Research involving animals

• Retrospective studies involving personal data

• Studies involving the use of personal, institutional, or sensitive data

• Any other research requiring ethical approval under national or institutional regulations

The name of the ethics committee, approval date, and approval number must be clearly stated in the manuscript.

If the study does not require ethics committee approval, authors must submit a signed declaration stating this and clearly indicate the exemption within the manuscript.

7. Originality, Plagiarism, and Similarity Screening

All manuscripts submitted to JMTPR must be original and must comply with academic writing and citation standards.

Authors are required to conduct similarity screening using tools such as Turnitin or iThenticate before submission and upload the similarity report together with the manuscript.

As a general rule, manuscripts with a similarity rate exceeding 20% may be returned to the author(s) for revision or rejected. The Editorial Board may also consider the nature of the similarity, including references, direct quotations, standard methodological expressions, and properly cited sources, when making its assessment.

If plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate text recycling, or another form of academic misconduct is detected before or after publication, JMTPR will take appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics principles and relevant COPE guidance.

8. Conflicts of Interest

All parties involved in the publication process must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.

Conflicts of interest may include financial, institutional, personal, academic, political, or commercial relationships that could influence the evaluation, interpretation, or publication of a manuscript.

Authors must disclose all relevant conflicts of interest in the manuscript. Reviewers and editors must decline involvement in manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.

If an undisclosed conflict of interest is identified after publication, the journal may publish a correction, expression of concern, or retraction depending on the nature and severity of the issue.

9. Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

JMTPR follows the ethical principles set out in the “Ethical Guidelines on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence” issued by the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye (YÖK).

Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors, as authorship requires academic responsibility, accountability, and the ability to approve the final version of the work.

If generative artificial intelligence tools are used in the preparation of a manuscript, this use must be clearly and transparently disclosed within the article. Authors must specify the purpose and scope of AI use, such as language editing, translation support, data processing assistance, or literature organization.

The use of AI tools does not eliminate or reduce the academic, scientific, legal, or ethical responsibility of the authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy of the content, originality of the manuscript, validity of references, integrity of data, and compliance with publication ethics.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, generate false references, manipulate findings, conceal plagiarism, or produce misleading academic content.

10. Correction, Retraction, and Expression of Concern

JMTPR is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.

If minor errors are identified in a published article and these errors do not affect the findings, interpretations, or conclusions, the journal may publish a correction.

If serious concerns arise regarding the reliability, integrity, originality, or ethical compliance of a published article, the journal may issue an expression of concern while an investigation is ongoing or inconclusive.

If major errors, ethical violations, plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, copyright infringement, or other serious problems are confirmed, the journal may retract the article.

Correction, expression of concern, and retraction procedures are carried out in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics principles and relevant COPE guidance.

11. Protection of Personal Data and Confidentiality

JMTPR protects personal data submitted during the manuscript submission, review, and publication processes in accordance with applicable legal regulations and ethical principles.

Personal information belonging to authors, reviewers, editors, and other stakeholders is used only for editorial and publication purposes and is not shared with third parties unless required by law or ethical investigation.

Manuscripts under review are treated as confidential documents.

12. Intellectual Property and Copyright

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts do not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.

The journal protects the intellectual property rights of authors and published works. Any use of copyrighted material, including tables, figures, images, scales, or long quotations, must comply with copyright rules and must be accompanied by the necessary permissions where required.

13. Special Issues

Special issues may be published upon the decision of the Editorial Board.

Articles submitted to special issues are subject to the same ethical standards, editorial evaluation, and double-blind peer review process as regular submissions.

Special issue editors, guest editors, reviewers, and authors must comply with the journal’s publication ethics principles.

14. Ethical Complaints and Misconduct Allegations

JMTPR evaluates ethical complaints and allegations of publication misconduct carefully, confidentially, and impartially.

When necessary, the Editorial Board may request explanations, documents, raw data, ethics committee approvals, or institutional information from authors or relevant parties.

The journal may contact institutions, ethics committees, or other relevant bodies when serious ethical concerns arise.

All decisions are made in accordance with academic integrity, fairness, transparency, and the protection of the scholarly record.
